At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an Infrastructure Engineer supporting the customer, you will be trusted to provide server and network support for several systems.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Reviewing application and email reports
  • Monitoring: C2S environment, Application Development applications for proper operability
  • Provide status reporting to senior level offices
  • Run MySQL backups for all production servers
  • Review security patch management board
  • Build servers, manage certs, and user accounts
  • Install middleware
  • Providing support for development in and/or transition to the cloud, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
  • Managing system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems

Required skills:

  • Linux SA experience
  • Devops/cloud experience Network experience
  • Storage experience

Additional requirements (STRONGLY desired):

  • Demonstrated Linux (CentOS) skills
  • Demonstrated shell scripting (bash, sh, etc.)
  • Demonstrated AWS services (EC2s, S3, KMS, Cloud formation, VPC)
  • Demonstrated experience with DevOps Tools (Git, Jenkins, Maven, SonarQube, Puppet)
  • Demonstrated experience with Apache Tomcat and HTTPD
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including OS and networking
  • Demonstrated experience writing technical documentation and presentations
  • Strong written and oral skills
  • Comfortable presenting to all levels of expertise, knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Demonstrated experience with monitoring/metrics collection (Icinga, Prometheus)
  • Demonstrated configuration and management of Cisco Devices (ASA, Switches)
  • Demonstrated skills with RDS (Oracle, MySQL)
  • Demonstrated Windows Server (2012, 2016) knowledge
  • Demonstrated development using Capistrano


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in Linus, AWS, Windows, application background in Apache, WordPress, Joomla, Domino.
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
  • Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Oracle, MySQL and NodeJs a plus.
