GDIT is seeking a software tester to support a client’s transformation and modernization of an enterprise budget system. This role will deliver innovative solutions for improving the effectiveness, reach, and content of the enterprise data and service resources. The tester will work with a team of developers to deliver innovative solutions for improving the effectiveness and capabilities of the client’s budget forecast and management system. Our team will re-platform a set of existing services and data resources to an OpenShift environment on Azure, and then extend existing services and develop new services.
The candidate will be responsible for working across the software life-cycle, with an emphasis on testing concentrating on validation of requirements through testing. The candidate will apply behavior-driven development (BDD) approaches to align these analysis and testing activities. The best candidate has a strong understanding of industry trends and using agile methodologies for analysis and testing and applying user interface/user experience (UI/UX) design methods. The candidate will work collaboratively with the team to incorporate testing as part of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) activities.
The candidate should be able to:
Analyze existing systems interfaces and documents.
Expert ability to perform analysis of customer requirements and design technical solutions
Describe and execute test cases. Ability to create and execute test plans against customer requirements, to thoroughly test application
Write automated tests using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner. The ability to write tests against web user interfaces using tools like Selenium is a bonus
Experience with test management platforms (such as HP ALM, and ALM Defect Management)
Experience in security testing with tools such as AppScan
Collaborate with the team on agile activities to include estimation, iterative planning and retrospectives
Knowledge of software tools to manage application development and testing – Toad, SQL Developer
Familiarity with SQL database objects, triggers, packages, functions, procedures, tables etc.
Manage requirements using a backlog, and collaborate with product-owners to prioritize the backlog
Manage the flow of development from idea to release
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and management tools such as VersionOne.
Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
