The Database Management Systems Engineer supports the client by working with various database management systems such as Microsoft SQL server, Postgres, and MariaDB to deliver robust, highly-available database management systems across an enterprise of users. This role is for a highly-motivated individual contributor who can advise customers on the best configuration, infrastructure, and architecture for building and maintaining databases in current database technology to produce redundant, highly-available database systems stretched across multiple geographic locations for disaster recovery purposes.

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Install and administer Microsoft SQL Server 2016, Postgres, and/or MariaDB databases. 

  • Check and maintain database backups on a daily basis, and troubleshoot database backup and restoration issues. 

  • Work with T-SQL to query, organize, and maintain database objects and schema. 

  • Configure and maintain backups of databases and conduct backup and restore operations on databases. 

  • Troubleshoot performance issues in SQL queries, tables, views, stored procedures, and other relational database objects. 

  • Check and maintain database backups on a daily basis, and troubleshoot database backup and restoration issues. 

  • Have familiarity working with containers and containerization technologies, such as Kubernetes and Docker, especially within a database management context. 


Qualifications & Requirements:  

  • BS in Computer Science or Information Technology or other related scientific or technical discipline. 

  • Experience can be substituted for education. 

  • Position requires three to eight years of relevant experience supporting database management systems. 

  • Candidate must possess or be able to acquire DoD 8140 IAT Level II compliance (CompTIA Security+, etc.) upon hire.  

  • Active Top Secret clearance that has been adjudicated within the last 52 months.
