This position is remote, physically located in the U.S.,and will require reporting to office in Sterling, VA, approximately two (2) days a month.
The contractor needs to be a US Citizen.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee development of multiple INL applications
Work with latest technologies to create high-performance code in both on-prem and cloud environments
Design and develop web applications, write optimized SQL code, and develop features and software with scaling capabilities
Review code work for accuracy and functionality; publish code adhering to Department security standards and best practices
Assist project leads in the design and functionality of INL applications.
Analyze and integrate code segments regularly; analyze and test SQL queries before they are pushed to production environment
Establish and oversee SOPs for the development, testing, merging, quality assurance of code.
Maintain development, testing and production environments.
Assist with migration of on-prem applications to the cloud.
Provide training to team members as needed to implement secure coding standards in line with Department policy.
Assist in establishing, maintaining, and monitoring the DevOps pipeline.
Assist Data Architect with database management
Prepare weekly and periodic reports relating to IT systems and database services status, issues, and recommendations
Prepare and update IT database management policies as required to promote secure and proper use of IT resources
Work closely with team members and other project stakeholders to ideate technical solutions to meet business needs including designing, developing, deploying, and optimizing software among other tasks within area of expertise.
Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency of applications, conduct both black box and white box testing
Troubleshoot, debug, and regularly upgrade and version software
Support project lead and other team members in any of the activities of the software development life cycle, including preparation of technical and non-technical documentation and other projects tasks as needed
Other duties as assigned
Must possess a active DOD/DOS Secret Security Clearance or higher
Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or related discipline, or equivalent related experience.
Min. 5 years (6+ preferred) of professional experience as a software developer designing and implementing enterprise-scale web applications.
Min. 5+ years of experience providing a rich UI/UX with HTML, CSS, and client side frameworks such as jQuery, jQuery UI, ASP.NET AJAX, among similar technologies.
Min. 5 years (6+ preferred) of professional experience developing web services using .NET frameworks: WCF and Web API.
Min. 5+ years of professional experience using ASP.NET MVC framework
Min. 5 years (6+ preferred) of professional experience using UML.
Min. 5 years (6+ preferred) of professional experience developing databases with SQL Server 2014+
Min.three (3+) years of experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum), Atlassian Team tools, and using continuous integration and delivery tools (Jenkins/AzureCI).
Min. three (3+) years of practical experience with DevOps plus – Continuous Integration, Automated Deployment, Team Foundation Services/Visual Studio Online with web applications (Cloud development experience preferred).
The likely salary range for this position is $124,000 - $186,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
