Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solve some of the worlds most complex technical challenges. The Defense Business Unit team is searching for a Program Control/Finance Officer (PCO) to join their program in San Diego, CA.

As the PCO you will provide financial analysis support to the business, including but not limited to cost accounting, revenue recognition, subcontractor financial management, at risk coordination, forecasting, variance analysis, invoice preparation/review and cash flow management for our Defense Business Unit.

This role interfaces with project managers and business leaders. 

  • Review and understand contract terms, and contribute effectively to the job setup and closeout processes

  • Provide data and financial analysis in support of external customer requirements, Group/Corporate data calls and audit requests

  • Escalate and resolve key financial issues, and produce accurate and intuitive reports as necessary

  • Review subcontractor timesheets and resolve payment and reconciliation

  • Provide valuable input to monthly and quarterly internal reports and analyses

  • Focus on meaningful and material data points in Project Review meetings and other data presentations that shed light on execution quality and improvement opportunities

  • Act proactively and shows initiative with regard to risk assessment, escalation and mitigation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • 6 years of finance and program control experience in a DoD or Govt contracting environment

  • Strong MS Excel experience to include pivot table abilities, basic formula construction, averages and analysis

  • Experience with Costpoint and Cognos preferred

  • US citizenship; must be able to obtain a Secret clearance if required
