For the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) GDIT anticipates performing software development and application enhancements on the Mission Systems Lifecycle Support (MSLS) contract using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and DevSecOps processes. GDIT is excited to offer you a unique opportunity to join a  SAFe Agile Release Train (ART) utilizing CI/CD pipeline to support one our nation’s most critical homeland missions – the storage and processing of biometric and associated biographic information for national security, law enforcement, immigration and border management, intelligence, background investigations, and associated testing, training, management reporting, planning and analysis

GDIT is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Developer/Engineer to join our growing team.  The successful candidate will enhance, develop, support, and modernize mission-critical applications; provide technical advice during conceptualization, development, and implementation phases; transform requirements into working solutions; and engage with users to define system scope/objectives and contribute to design decisions. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supports development and test teams using Agile principles

• Uses Java and C++ development experience to develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical applications

• Works on new development and re-engineering efforts

• Implements enhancements to existing system

• Coordinates with other developers working in parallel and performs QA/testing as needed

• Provide software development services on all tiers (UI, Java, Oracle)

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship

• DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of relevant experience

• Experience with Java and/or C++ programming languages

Desired Skills / Qualifications:

• Master's degree in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field of study

• Certification in SAFe, SCRUM or Kanban

• Currency with CI/CD/CA automation and implementing secure DevOps methodologies

• Experience in Jira to support configuration management in an Agile environment

• Experience in Confluence to support documentation in an Agile environment

• Experience with Ansible

• Experience in automating JUnit test cases

• Experience in automating manual, functional test cases/Selenium

• Experience in database programming using SQL

• Experience with test-driven development

• Experience in Struts and Restful services

• Experience in developing integration software (Oracle WebLogic, TIBCO)

• Experience in Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL and SQL*Plus

• Experience in UNIX/LINUX shell scripting

• Proven track record as a self-learner, keeping current with the latest techniques
