Job Description Summary:

Team GDIT is seeking Field Service Network Engineer, Jorneyman in support of the IBD-SS program’s FMV Sustainment of systems in the SWA area of operations. The FMV Network Engineer will provide and engineer communication links that connect sensors to operators or viewers.  The FMV Network Engineer will install, maintain and troubleshoot the systems.  These duties include but are not limited to;radios, engineer the communication / network requirements to accommodate the traffic type and pipeline size, and maintain the links.  This position desires an individual who has past experience performing mechanical, electronic, and IT Networking tasks as well as skills performing installs, de-installs, testing of systems and components and performing Preventive Maintenance actions on a variety of systems belonging to the Elevated Sensors family of systems to include BETSS-C, Cerberus, RDISS, Radar, PTP radio, television and other communications & surveillance equipment components. A strong background in IT networks and Network Security is required. Candidate shall have operational and tactical level intelligence experience to include general experience in the fields of targeting, intelligence systems, and geospatial systems. In addition, qualified candidates shall possess strong briefing skills and be capable of effectively directing subordinate analysts in the accomplishment of intelligence products and assessments. CONUS training in various locations will be required prior to deployment.

Primary Duties:

  • Uses hand tools, power tools, and electronics measuring and test equipment to troubleshoot, repair, and remove and replace components
  • Performs fault detection, isolation, and correction of software and hardware systems and components
  • Updates databases to input/extract data, informs Lead of job status and any issues encountered
  • Tracks and updates work orders to include the replacement of parts component serial numbers removed and replaced
  • May travel via military/commercial conveyances to outlying areas
  • Interacts and professionally exhibits customer service skills and be able to present a positive approach with customers and peers
  • Works in extreme environment and must be able to withstand physical demands of seasonal hot or cold temperatures and willing to live and operate in an austere environment
  • Must be willing to support up to an 84-hour Extended Work Week
  • Assume duties as the FMV Team Lead when he/she is unavailable and/or directed by GDIT Leadership.
  • Possesses a US passport that will not expire for at least 2 or more years and must have at least 4 consecutive blank pages for country visas
  • Must be capable of meeting standards of fitness for deployment to the SWA of Operations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Relevant and recent experience supporting FMV or other Force Protection Systems is highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of on a variety of systems belonging to the Elevated Sensors family of systems to include BETSS-C, Cerberus, RDISS, Radar, PTP radio, television and other communications & surveillance equipment components
  • A strong background in IT networks and Network Security is also desired
  • Experience utilizing COLTS (or similar such as RCLS) and operating within the GCSS-A environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Import/Export (ITAR/EXIM) compliance experience
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively including attention to detail

Education Required:

  • Journeyman Level: BA/BS + 5-8 yrs. experience (12 yrs exp. in lieu of a degree)
  • Comp TIA Security+, Network+, or A+ certification as directed by the IBD-SS Program Manager
  • CCNA or higher level certification is highly desirable

Security Clearance:

  • Must have current US Secret security clearance
