Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has an immediate opportunity for a Sr. Project Manager to manage complex, high-profile projects and lead cross-functional project teams to deliver high-quality technology solutions for our internal customers and will apply advanced level of project and program management knowledge to solve a variety of complex technical issues.

Sr. Project Manager with the skills necessary to execute projects to ensure it meets all scope, schedule, resources and quality expectations through the entire project life cycle and in accordance with the objectives of the enterprise.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as a technical subject matter expert across multiple IT projects by supporting the design and review of solution and architecture.

  • Support project efforts in defining scope, planning, executing and reporting on strategic initiatives

  • Manage and communicate detailed project plans, manages communication cadency and drives the team to meet tight deadlines.

  • Serve as liaison with senior clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.

  • Present project progress, issues and mitigations to all stakeholders

  • Engage current and perspective customers to understand client needs, socialize and vet solutions, and advise on strategies to shape acquisitions that achieve

  • Define strategies and roadmaps for expansion of capabilities, technologies and governance\

  • Support the design and review of the technical architecture and supporting information technologies to compliance with USPS IT Standards, including such areas as security, performance, capacity planning, backup / recovery, failover, and disaster recovery.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology.

  • Supports capture and proposal efforts and participates in special projects as required.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience

  • Strong, articulate communication skills knowing the right level of technical detail to include for various audiences (i.e., executive, technical, etc.)

  • Strong working knowledge of application development, cloud, DevOps, and infrastructure services

  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools including MS Project

  • Proven experience in strategic planning

  • Project Management Professional certification required

  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Public Trust Clearance
