General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Database Programmer to join our team and support a system modernization and maintenance project for the Administration for Children and Families ( ACF).

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is an operating division within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and its mission is to foster the health and well-being of children, youth, families, individuals and communities to be resilient, safe, healthy, and economically secure by providing federal leadership, partnership and resources for the compassionate and effective delivery of human services


  • Design, plan, develop, build, analyze, evaluate, install and administer database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.
  • Design and implement databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods
  • Analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Prepare system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
  • Define database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.


  • BA/BS in a related field (or with equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of relative experience
  • Experience in an Agile environment - preferably Scrum methodology
  • Detailed oriented with good organizational and analytical skills
  • Experience in Online Transactional Processing (OLTP) and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) systems
  • Experience with Stored Procedures, Views, Triggers and other database objects
