GDIT is seeking an experienced Network Engineering Lead to supervise the customer network systems. Candidate is expected to visit the client site at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) a few days of the week.  

In this role, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Install and manage daily support activities across various Cisco enterprise devices.
  • Ensure designs and infrastructure solutions fulfill functional and technical requirements, adhere to processes and standards, and promote supportability.
  • Plan implementation of enhancements and upgrades to network.
  • Design and develop functional LAN/WAN/WLAN network infrastructure.
  • Effectively provide guidance in troubleshooting and resolving help desk tickets.
  • Design, integrate, and maintain network services including switching, routing, firewalls, wireless networks, and network security.
  • Coordinate network maintenance/downtime with Government customer.
  • Develop and maintain standard processes and operating procedures, create technical architecture diagrams, and system build documentation.
  • Implement routine changes related to incidents or requests from customers or design engineers
  • Troubleshoot and escalate network problems as needed
  • Perform network monitoring, analysis, and configuration optimization
  • Configuration of dynamic routing protocols (e.g., OSPF and BGP)
  • Supervise/lead network changes working with vendors and peers
  • Maintain network documentation such as wiring diagrams, and knowledge base
  • Perform OS upgrades to maintain software currency
  • Perform device configuration to maintain configuration compliance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An active Secret security clearance is required to begin employment
  • Applicable working experience on Cisco DNA/ Cisco Firewalls
  • CompTIA A+ and Cisco Certified Network licenses and certifications (i.e., Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, etc.) are highly preferred
  • Experience communicating technical approaches and findings to internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum education is BA/BS or equivalent related professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience providing network infrastructure engineering support
  • Experienced in installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and resolving network related incidents
  • Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical individuals and customers
  • ITIL 4 certification/ experience preferred
