Responsible for the procurement of supplies, materials, and equipment necessary for the operation of the organization. Responsible for managing all property (CAP, GFE & Corporate).
Obtains supplies, materials, and equipment from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source, and urgency of need.
Contacts vendors, obtains quotations, examines bids, makes awards, places orders, and expedites delivery.
Follows up on all awards until completion of order.
Negotiates and settles with vendors regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, overages, cancellations, and other changes.
Maintains files and records of materials, inventories, and deliveries.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced buyers.
Serves as a liaison between employees or customer personnel and vendors in order to answer questions and resolve problems.
Coordinates with accounts payable and programs to reconcile invoicing issues to ensure prompt vendor payments occur.
Supports internal and external audits, and prepares audit ready file documentation
Performs source selection and expediting, issuing purchase orders to select vendors and entering pertinent data into Deltek GCS Premier Material Management.
Supports data calls as required.
Participates in special projects as required.
Maintain corporate property database Conduct property audits in multiple locations in WMA area Track property movement (e.g., DD 1149 preparation) Respond to customer (both internal & external) property inquiries
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or a related business discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.
3-5 years of related purchasing experience.
Active Top Secret Clearance Required.
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proactive problem solver (e.g., delivery/shipping, back orders, non-responsive vendors, negotiating terms and conditions, etc.) and challenges focused on results.
Mission-oriented team player, with strong analytical and organizational skills, ability to multitask, work independently, and manage time and workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Successfully works cross-functionally with contracts, program personnel, management, subcontracts, receiving, and various other disciplines.
Excellent systems skills to include MS Office and Deltek CostPoint.
