Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Sr. Azure Cloud Engineer for our ICAM program. You will be responsible for coordinating and executing engineering actions for system and customer events, incidents, changes, deployment, and sustainment activities throughout the system’s operational lifecycle for customer applications hosted in the Azure cloud. You will be working day-to-day with internal and external customers and stakeholders, including operators, end-users, engineering, development, integration, and program stakeholders. You will ensure that your activities are performed in accordance with program objectives, policies, regulations, and requirements. You will be responsible for supporting all Azure engineering activities for the ICAM solution in both a classified and unclassified environment.


This is a hybrid position and requires regular on-site support and remote work. 

This position is contingent upon contract award. 


In this role, a typical day will include: 

  • Conducts capacity and performance analysis and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.   

  • Gather technical requirements and execute deliverables 

  • Monitor and evaluate the environment for performance improvements 

  • Assist with implementing IT Security requirements and maintaining cloud security documentation 

  • Monitor and Manage applications running in Kubernetes and Docker 

  • Develop architecture and design deliverables, serving as an Azure Subject Matter Expert (SME) 

  • Administer, operate, manage, and maintain components for on-premises and cloud-based virtualized systems 

  • Leverage your experience building, deploying, managing, and monitoring services with Azure in support of the ICAM solution 

  • Create scripts to automate certain functions on Azure 

  • Analyze requirements and system architectures to refine system requirements, specifications and resulting design plans 


Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum active DoD Security Clearance of SECRET, or higher 

  • Minimum active CompTIA Security+ certification, or higher for IAT Level III DoD 8570 certification 

  • Minimum active Computing Environment certification (CE) in job related duties such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Windows Server etc. 

  • 10+ Years related experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline  

  • Identity Management and Authentication/Authorization experience 

  • Must have a minimum of 5+ year Linux experience in an enterprise environment. 

  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS) 

  • Microsoft Azure system engineering, administration, and automation experience 

  • Experience with implementing PKI and PIV standards, Active Directory or LDAP 

  • Azure Networking, Azure Security, Azure Storage  

  • Azure Virtual Machines 

  • Azure Resource Manager 

  • Group Policy Objects and management 


Desired Qualifications: 

  • Identity Management and Authentication/Authorization experience 

  • Experience developing coding/scripting to build required automation and tools (using Ansible, Ruby, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Java, etc.) 

  • Experience with DevSecOps concepts, tools, and automation skills 

  • Familiarity with industry standard host-based security systems (HBSS) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solutions (ACAS) 

  • Experience configuring and/or utilizing monitoring/logging solutions 

  • Mixed operating systems experience: (Linux, Windows)
