  • Provides expert level technical solutions in the management of software, hardware, configurations, and architectures, including  network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters and servers.
  • Critically evaluates existing network systems and planning long-term strategies to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements under minimal supervision.
  • Maintains network security and ensures compliance with security polices and procedures.  
  • Responsible for the analysis, administration and support of voice, video, and/or data communications networks.
  • Analyzes, administers and maintains voice, video, and/or data communications networks.

  • Installs, supports and/or maintains LANs and/or WANs; evaluates and recommends networking product and software upgrades with independent judgement and minimum supervision. May provide guidance to less-experienced personnel. 
  • Designs, installs and maintains the network system for multiple classifications and coordinates their use with independent judgement and minimum supervision.
  • Participates in and may lead aspects of major network installations and upgrades.
  • Closely monitors network performance. Independently troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.
  • Maintains operating efficiency and stability, ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data, and provides technical solutions to outages and other issues.
  • Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities may include: Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision. Coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.
  • Skills required:
  • Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II (Security+CE or equivalent) access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges.

  • Must possess a secret clearance.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software

  • Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications

  • This position may be required to complete short-term deployments to other locations worldwide.

  • Desired Qualifications:

    1. Previous experience with CISCO IOS and NX OS desired.

    2. CCNA desired.

BA/BS (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years of experience.
