Our work depends on a Cloud Systems Engineer joining our team to support customer activities at Chantilly, Virginia.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Cloud Systems Engineer supporting our customer, you will be trusted to provide general maintenance of a software solution built using Amazon Web Services and both custom and commercial software. Responsibilities will include working with the development team to keep the various environments (dev, test, and prod) up to date with security and maintenance updates, monitoring the environments for issues, providing design suggestions for the environments, and supporting the automated deployments into the environments.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of AWS EC2 and RDS services
  • Experience with Linux systems administration
  • Experience in an Agile development environment using Jira or other work tracking software
  • Experience remediating issues found from security vulnerability scans (patching, operating system hardening)
  • Clearance required - TS/SCI with Polygraph

Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of AWS EC2 and RDS services
  • Experience with Linux systems administration
  • Experience in an Agile development environment using Jira or other work tracking software
  • Experience remediating issues found from security vulnerability scans (patching, operating system hardening)
  • Ability and desire to function effectively on a highly motivated team
  • Demonstrated experience working with High Operational Tempo and Mission focused teams

Desired:

  • Amazon certification(s)
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous integration and delivery tools (e.g., Git)
  • Demonstrated experience with LDAP/Active Directory
  • Experience working in an Agile scrum teamwork environment
