GDIT is looking for a passionate, skilled and driven Systems Engineer to help our Navy team with building solutions and driving value to our customers. Our ideal candidate will have experience with deploying, configuring, and maintaining performance and event monitoring solutions, and a good understanding of software development best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing Event and Alert rules
  • Creating custom APIs for legacy components to communicate with ScienceLogic and ServiceNow
  • Good knowledge in selecting the Configuration Item Binding in event rules
  • Writing Alert correlation rules(rule based) using scripting
  • Support development activities including troubleshooting and resolving issues in our dev, test and production environment.
  • Actively participate in agile meetings with product and program management
  • Brief customers on phone or in person for project kickoffs, progress reviews, or closeouts
  • Travel to customer site, customer engagements, or GDIT office when required
  • Have a proactive attitude and a willingness to “go the extra mile” to get the job done

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 2+ years supporting the design, configuration, implementation, and deployment of IT Operations Monitoring Tools
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Experience supporting ScienceLogic and ServiceNow is a plus
  • Shell, Bash, and Python scripting experience is a plus
  • Proven development experience in application customization using scripting, forms, lists, tables, Business Rules, UI Scripts, Workflows, Flow Designer, PowerPacks, etc. to deliver solutions that meet requirements.
  • Familiarity with Linux commands.
  • Strong organization and time management skills while working in a rapid solution deployment environment
  • Must be able to identify and learn new technologies quickly
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

The likely salary range for this position is $60,000 - $90,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
