GDIT is seeking a Solution Architect/Engineering Expert to lead a multi-disciplinary team that is advancing a next-generation infrastructure solution for a mission critical DHS customer. The initiative will align existing data center infrastructure, applications, and networks with services available in a high-availability colocation facility, to improve mission system availability and establish a foundation for future capabilities. The Solution Architect / Engineering Expert (SA/EE) works closely with the customer to understand mission, solution, and engineering requirements to design, deploy, and operate the optimal solution to meet customer mission needs. The SA/EE works closely with the PM and other program personnel to align customer requirements with program structure, services, and support offerings to ensure solution supportability. Collaboration extends through all phases of requirements through solution development and operational support including identification of improvement and innovation. The SA/EE designs integration with other systems to ensure operational efficiency in alignment with security and operational availability requirements. The SA/EE ensures all design and as built documentation is accurate and complete.
The ideal candidate will have:
15+ years designing and delivering mission critical systems
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
Experience supporting DHS and/or DHS components, such as TSA
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Experience in Agile and/or Scrum
Ability to lead engineering teams to deliver quality solutions on schedule
Eligible for a DHS EOD Suitability determination. Current EOD is a plus.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Experience delivering high-availability infrastructure solutions in a dynamic, mission-critical environment
Agile and/or Scrum certification
