The Telecommunications Analyst/Technician provides technical expertise on legacy TDM telephone systems and installation projects.
Extensive knowledge of troubleshooting and repair for legacy TDM and VOIP telephone systems. Knowledge of wireline & wireless telecom protocols.
Experience with Northern Telecom DMS 100/200 & MSL 100 switches, Nortel CS1000, UMC1000.
Monitoring and maintenance of different peripheral modules such as DTC, DTCI, RCU, LCM, LTC etc. Maintenance of CM, MS, IOD, NET etc.
Responsible for monitoring the network elements alarms to quickly identify and proactively react to any situation that could adversely affect the service.
Responsible for monitoring the environmental and power alarms.
Responsible for escalating any major events or outages to the appropriate group or individuals.
Able to perform daily, weekly and monthly PMI’s of switch, PM’s and battery plant.
Knowledge of Translations, Maintenance, Transmissions, Operational Measurements, Integrated Services Digital Network, Common Channel Signaling/SS7, Fiber Optic Terminals, Automatic Call Distribution Systems, Uniform Call Distribution systems, Callegra and Call Pilot Voice Mail applications, Moves, Adds and Changes, Software Release Upgrades and Hardware Upgrades, Administration, Traffic Analysis and Automated Applications.
Analyze each line/trunk indication and immediately clear or dispatch the trouble to the appropriate agency.
Worked closely with LEC’s, Long Distance Carriers on setting up trunking between switching facilities.
Prepare documentation as required for submission of a complete package; (e.g. Statement of Work; Implementation Schedule; detailed material list).
Conduct periodic voice mail user training sessions to organizational personnel.
Receive and successfully handled trouble/repair calls from all branches of the Department of Defense.
Bachelors Degree in Telecomm Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of training; certifications; work and/or military experience.
2+ years of experience or equivalent combination of training; certifications; work and/or military experience.
Secret Clearance required
