At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Mid-Level UNIX System Administrator, you will be part of our Enterprise UNIX System Administration Team working to ensure the operability of servers utilized by the Navy throughout the world.

 

Duties and responbilities:

  • Maintain daily operation and problem resolution of hardware, operating systems, and applications to provide optimum performance and system availability
  • Install, rebuild, configure, maintain, administer, and document UNIX and Linux systems, software, systems-related products, hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks on systems for proactive monitoring such as space usage, deleting log files, dump files, and error correcting
  • Create, document, and implement repeatable processes to install, test, upgrade, maintain, and patch system environments and its software
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-related incidents detected during monitoring, by other technical teams, and by users
  • Develop, recommend, document, implement, and maintain system management policies, procedures, and standards
  • Create, modify, delete, and document user accounts
  • Complete and maintain DISA STiGs

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

 

Security+CE certification or higher

 

Solaris OS or Linux certification within 6 months of employment date.

3+ year's experience system administration of Solaris 10 or higher or Linux servers and applications.

 

Experience with network storage devices.
