GDIT is seeking a Tableau Administrator – National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) to join our team supporting the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Corporate Information Systems to provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Support Services of their Corporate Business Systems (CBSOM). As the Tableau Administrator – National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) supporting the DOE Cost Collection Solution (CostEX), Cost Plan (Spend Plan) Solution, Budget Formulation (FormEX), and Advanced Data Visualization Solution (ADViS). You will support DOE’s Corporate Business Systems, used by over 14,000 users to fulfill the agency’s mission to promote energy independence, progress scientific research, and protect the nation through nuclear security.
You will be part of a 60+ person team supporting DOE on multiple task orders under our Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). BPA services include task order management, database management, IT security, Tier 1 help desk, support of various business applications for financial management and acquisitions management, and business intelligence. Services on this single award BPA with a Period of Performance through early 2028 will be performed at the DOE office located at 20300 Century Boulevard, Germantown, MD, 20874. (Currently remote due to COVID-19). The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) uses a variety of tools developed using Oracle Application Express (APEX), that are configured to provide the NNSA/Defense Programs (NNSA/DP) with the capability of analyzing mission objectives and planning against execution. The systems encompass activities related to the planning, programming, budgeting, and evaluation processes of the NNSA/Defense Programs and provides critical analysis of mission value to senior leadership. At its core is the ability to develop portfolios of any activities created within the systems and analyze the portfolios in a number of different ways using multi-dimensional analysis capabilities within the tools. The systems provides configurable forms, workflows, and web services that can integrated with other CBS systems.

In this role, a typical day will include:
Administration and maintenance of Tableau desktop and server architecture across the different environments
Technical oversight of Tableau Server infrastructure from user setup to performance tuning
Perform server activities such as product patching, change management, performance tuning, standards/best practices, mentoring, metadata management, cluster/distributed management, cache/history management, user management, scheduling
Design and implementation of Tableau Server data extracts from various sources
Collaborate closely with and ensure alignment with BI team and partners, including IT and Enterprise Data Management
Responsible for being an expert resource for architects in the development of target architectures to ensure that they can be properly designed and implemented through sound engineering practices
Tableau Desktop - Able to Create/Modify Data sources and publish them to Tableau server
Tableau Desktop - experience with Data source filters, Calculated fields, Row level security etc.,
Tableau Server - Able to create dashboards
Tableau Server - Server administration ( adding Users, groups, assigning users to groups)
Tableau Server - License management
Tableau Server - Server maintenance/ patches/upgrades
Tableau Server - Trusted authentication
Site administration - Because there may be multiple sites, managing/adding Users, groups, and assigning users to Site-specific groups
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Management, or other technically related discipline with at least 8 years of increasingly responsible and relevant experience. Without a degree 12+ years of relevant experience is required. Two thirds of the experience needs to be in Tableau Administration or other DOE specific COTS implementations
Experience with Installation, configuration, patching and upgrading of Tableau tool across the environments
Manage the application’s users, groups, and integration with Active Directory/Oracle Identity management
Automate monitoring & server job processes
Monitoring and Tuning of the Tableau servers
Experience in taking back ups and restoration of Tableau repository
Good knowledge on SQL and Oracle database
Good experience on Tableau Desktop
Ability to design data visualizations (dashboard/KPI’s etc.) with Tableau
Ability to analyze the data set/business requirements and provide recommendations for best data visualizations in Tableau
Experience driving continuous improvement of business processes and technical operations
Good team player, able to manage multiple assignments, and adapt to changing client needs
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to business leaders
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
ITIL v3 or v4 certification
Experience with ServiceNow for incident management, problem management, and service request management
Oracle Application Express, OBIEE and Tableau certifications
Previous Department of Energy experience
Experience with Tableau Prep
