As a member of the Cyber Protection Team, the Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for maintaining multiple security tools in a secure environment. Primary responsibilities also include:
Installing and configuring security tool solutions
Updating rules, signatures, and content for security tools and applications
Provide Tier 3 support for security tools
Experience with Red Hate Enterprise Linux 6/7
Must be able to build a Linux server (architecture irrelevant) from scratch.
Must understand the basic file system architecture and partitioning best practices.
Basic concepts of Linux security (permissions, selinux, ldap authentication, etc.).
Basic concepts of network security and protocols (OSI model, best practices, etc.).
VMWare or similar virtualization. Must have experience at least creating a base VM according to system requisites.
Experience writing basic scripts, bash preferred.
Must be able to work independently and with a team, verbal and written communication skills are an absolute must.
Must be able to troubleshoot/research issues when tasked with minimal guidance but report progress regularly.
Experience with server hardening, STIG and tools applying STIGs preferred.
Experience with remote configuration tools, Ansible preferred.
Experience with containerization technology, Docker/Podman preferred.
Experience using Red Hat Satellite.
Experience deploying/maintaining open source security tools, IDS/IPS solutions preferred.
Switch configuration concepts, Cisco preferred.
Experience working with a ticketing system, Remedy preferred.
Education and Experience:
BS degree in relevant field desired
4+ years experience required
Linux: Linux+/LPIC-1, RHCSA preferred
Security: Security+ or CEH preferred
