GDIT is seeking Mid-level/Senior Network Engineers to help support our JSP ETM program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Due to the nature of the work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed.

These Network Engineer positions have various shift schedules:

  • Designated days include MON-FRI, SUN-THURS, and TUES-SAT.

  • Designated hours include REGULAR (core business hours), DAY (0600-1430) and MID/SWING (1400-2230).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Designs, plans and builds communications networks.

  • Configures routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.

  • Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.

  • Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies.

  • Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.

  • Plans implementation of enhancements.

  • Analyzes customer requirements and provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate complexity.

  • Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.

  • Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.

  • Coordinates hardware and software acquisition.

  • Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.

  • Supports the design and build of hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.


  • Active SECRET security clearance or higher

  • DoD 8570 IAT II Certification

  • One of the following Networking Certifications - Brocade, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP), Aruba

  • Candidate must be willing to obtain an Aruba Certification within 90 days from start of employment

  • Bachelors Degree OR equivalent experience in lieu of degree

  • 5+ years of experience in network administration/engineering

  • Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring, managing and maintaining network devices.

  • Must have hands-on experience/knowledge with Aruba networking systems

  • Willing to report onsite as indicated above (telecommuting not allowed).


  • Active TOP SECRET security clearance or higher

  • Aruba Certification (ACSA and/or ACSP, depending on role)
