Business Analyst

Our work depends on a Business Analyst to join our team in supporting the Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC) Services Directorate team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Here, you’ll provide cutting-edge solutions to the SEC Services Directorate which is responsible for the maintenance and sustainment of business applications used within CECOM and SEC and customer applications for outside organizations - including Army Materiel Command (AMC), Department of the Army (DA), Department of Defense (DoD), and other Government agencies.  GDIT is your place to make meaningful contributions to challenging projects and grow a rewarding career.

HOW A BUSINESS ANALYST AND TESTER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Analyzes markets for company products and services. Recommends strategies to achieve business development goals.
  • Works as part of an Agile software team utilizing the Scrum framework, acting as the pivotal resource that bridges customer expectations and team output.
  • Acts as a leadership resource as needed, providing guidance on business workflow and customer needs.
  • Facilitates Agile ceremonies on less-mature teams.
  • Analyzes business and technical processes to help formulate effective solutions.
  • Works with customers daily to define project scope and objectives.
  • Prepares moderately complex business-technical documentation such as flow charts, models, procedures, and system specifications to be presented both internally and externally.
  • Conducts feasibility studies to assist in determining if potential designs meet provided functional requirements.
  • Acts as a coach for less-experienced business analysts, facilitating sharing of knowledge across projects.
  • Utilizes business expertise to provide feedback and direction for the preparation and maintenance of system user documentation.
  • Utilizes work-tracking software such as Team Foundation Server (TFS), Azure DevOps (ADO), or JIRA to assist in team workflow planning and provide project level reporting to assist in delivery of contract reporting requirements.
  • Defines, documents, analyzes, performs, and interprets developmental tests for new and/or modified products or product components.
  • Investigates and resolves operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or equivalent.

Required Experience: 5-8 years of related experience

  • Experience with workload tracking software such as Team Foundation Server (TFS), Azure DevOps (ADO), or JIRA.
  • Experience interacting working in the DoD or Federal landscape. 
  • Is technically inclined, able to gain proficiency with disparate business applications quickly.
  • Security Clearance Level: SECRET

  • Flexible and able to multi-task effectively to meet delivery requirements in an often-shifting landscape.
