Job Description
GDIT has partnered with NASA to consolidate select Procurement, Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology activities from the ten NASA Centers into a single shared services center located at Stennis Space Center in southern Mississippi.  The NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) mission is to provide timely, accurate, high quality, cost-effective, and customer focused support for selected NASA business and technical services.  GDIT has an opportunity at the NSSC for an HR Awards Assistant to contribute to our success in providing services for NASA’s Awards and Recognition Program.  This will be a full-time position onsite at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.The HR Awards Assistant will provide support and assistance to the Human Resources – Awards and Recognition Team. This includes:
  • Production support to include framing, inventory, distribution and delivery of awards memorabilia.
  • Providing support to in-house daily certificate processing, as well as Agency Honor prep work. 
  • Assist in the External Awards program, which includes researching, recordkeeping, notifying the community, and updating the calendar. 
  • Updating the Awards System and Work Tracking/Inventory Control Systems, and Budget systems. 
  • Candidate must possess extreme organizational skills to check all shipments for accuracy and keep daily records of items shipped and received by Center.
  • Responsibilities include physical onsite activity such as moving frames or certificate boxes to and from storage area, manually inputting certificates into frames and jackets, preparing items for shipment, and getting award items to shipping vendor.
  • Candidates must demonstrate physical skills on site and basic computer hardware and software knowledge to work within and monitor the NSSC workflow management tool for tracking and researching tasks.

  • 4 years of work experience. Human Resources experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma required. College experience preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Must possess computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.  Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
  • US Citizenship Required per the contract
