As a Cloud Engineering and Architecture Engineer/Lead supporting Army PEO EIS, you will be trusted to work on providing oversight of all project aspects focusing on fulfilling business and technical performance, cost, and schedule objectives for delivering Cloud Hosted and Cloud Native products and services.
In this role, a typical day will include the responsibilities below:
The Cloud Engineer will work with Customer and Program stakeholders to execute a backlog of development, engineering, and design tasking to deliver cloud resources and automations to enable streamlined operations and provisioning of a Cloud Environment.
The Cloud Engineer shall work with other Cloud team members, customer and program stakeholders using and Agile work model to iteratively deliver and enhance Cloud Infrastructure and Automation capabilities.
This person shall be readily available to respond to Customer questions, concerns, and comments, as well as be proactive in alerting the Customer to potential contractual or programmatic issues.
Participates in the development and maintenance of the Cloud Backlog, Roadmap, and operations to achieve the strategic objectives of the Customer and the Program.
Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques and technologies of high complexity.
Assists customers with data integration and migration efforts, including mapping schemas and defining domain specific ontologies.
This position requires a Bachelor of Science, IT or equivalent and a minimum of 5 Years IT experience of which 4 years must be in a commercial cloud or hybrid deployment environment, OR 10 Years IT Experience with a minimum of 5 Years IT experience of which 4 years must be in a commercial cloud or hybrid deployment environment.
Experience should include:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software
3+ years technical experience in cloud provisioning and automation.
Experience creating of Infrastructure as Code, Automation, and Orchestration solutions.
Solution development and application, software architecture and cloud solutions.
Experience in AWS implementation to include core AWS resources (VPC, EC2, S3 etc.) and advanced AWS resources (lambda, cloud front)
Experience in API integration
Experience engineering and automating cloud operations using a DevSecOps tool suite.
Experience with Ansible and Terraform
Knowledge and experience in building APIs within AWS and API Gateway
Planning and executing complex IT engineering projects/operations similar in size and scope.
Knowledge and experience in infrastructure design and engineering; up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging Cloud and infrastructure technologies
Demonstrated skills, including experience in presenting material to senior Government officials
DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III Certification – Required
AWS Solution Architect Certification
AWS DevOps Engineer
CompTIA Security+ or Equivalent
Experience in setting up AWS Cognito Identity and Access management tool and ADFS.
SecDevOps, and ServiceNow tool suites
Experience with Agile methodologies and tools including executing and managing work in a SCRUM framework
This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by January 18, 2022 or the start date, if after January 18. Individuals who work in or reside in Florida, Montana, Tennessee, Texas, or work outside of the United States may be excluded from this requirement.
The likely salary range for this position is $96,000 - $144,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
