Essential Job Functions • Manages operations of network engineering center to ensure optimal operation and maintenance of systems. • Provides diagnostics to maintain equipment and troubleshoots and resolves matters of significance. • Assigns and oversees the work of network engineering personnel to ensure timely and accurate service and technical support to customers. • Ensures timely response to customer emergencies and outages during working hours and on an on-call basis to provide optimal service levels. • Assists client in developing network plans and in designing and implementing new or modified LAN/WAN to ensure effective business solutions. • Conducts network systems analyze according to the standards and methodology consistent with technical requirements and to ensure proper analysis and documentation of network capabilities. -Selects and hires employees. • Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and make recommendations for personnel actions. • Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines. • Prepares and recommends operating and personnel budgets for approval -Monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems or related field preferred • Five or more years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role included • Experience working with TCP/IP and other transport protocols within LAN/WAN environments -Experience working with technologies related to routers, hubs, bridges and switches Other Qualifications • Good human relations skills to select, develop, mentor, discipline and reward employee • Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members • Good communication skills • Management skills • Ability to work in a team environment • Ability to lead a team of Network Engineers as well as independent • Ability to work in a time sensitive environment e.g. meet monthly SLAs • On call rotation work schedule
