Informatica Data Quality Engineer

Job Description

GDIT has an opening for a Sr. Informatica Data Quality Engineer located in Raleigh, NC. Enterprise Data Management (EDM) is utilizing a Data Quality (DQ) tool to cleanse, standardize data & source data, and stage it for consumption by the Master Data Management (MDM). The DQ tool is one of the components to create the Golden Record for various domains for the USPS organization.

The DQ tools works by: 

• Performing extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from multiple sources into appropriate landing tables 

• Profiling incoming data to identify various patterns, inconsistencies, colRQ70485umn characteristics, distinct values and perform data distribution 

• Cleansing and manipulating data into acceptable values (trimming, normalization, various data manipulation functions, etc.), and using address validation of incoming records (using Address Doctor) to identify exceptions 

• Loading the cleansed data into staging tables for MDM or EDC consumption 

• Creating Data Quality Scorecards on various attributes to ‘grade’ the source data to the Golden Record (completeness, accuracy, duplication, consistency, conformity, integrity), and Data Analyst tool allows data stewards to choose components, create and refresh scorecards 

• Scheduling the above listed tasks for automation purposes 

  

The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days. 

  

Required: 

• Ten (10) years or more of experience 

• Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience 

• Experience with Red Hat Linux and Informatica product(s) 

• Strong database experience in any or all: Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, DB2 

• Strong in Informatica ETL coding, shell scripting and have Linux/Red Hat experience 

• Exposure in installing Informatica or other off the shelf products 

• Ability to research tool and platform related problems and document/articulate appropriate resolutions 

• Perform operational administrative functions including supporting 

• Perform job related tasks in support of primary duties including submission of Change requests, follow up procedures to open ports, and verify database connectivity, etc.
