GDIT is seeking a Network Security Engineer to join our team.
Must be local to the area; Some telecommuting allowed.
Works within existing designed network systems. Provides specifications and schematics for network architecture to include security appliances, mainly with 802.1x, IDS, and IPS. Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network systems. Maintains technical expertise in security areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as IDS, IPS, 802.1x and how they connect and operate with routers, switches, firewalls, etc. Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. Must be experienced in the configuration and maintenance of 802.1x, Intrusion Detection (IDS), and Intrusion Prevention (IPS) Systems.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BS or equivalent + 5 yrs related experience, or MS + 0 yrs experience
