Senior Software Developer

GDIT supports the customer by leveraging leading-edge IT solutions to improve customer's mission effectiveness while continuously seeking opportunities to increase efficiency. Under the Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) contract, our 110-member team delivers the full breadth of IT services, including infrastructure engineering and operations, software development and maintenance, cyber security, enterprise architecture support, and document processing. We also provide document processing capabilities in support of the agency’s regulatory mission.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and creative developer who can bring fresh thinking to a team of seasoned developers. We have an immediate opening for a seasoned .NET, XML software developer who will be responsible for development, support, and maintenance of new and legacy web applications in a fast-paced, high-demand team environment to help the customer realize mission-enabling benefits from implementing leading-edge technologies.

Qualifications:

Degree Desired:  B.S. in Computer Science or related field of study. Security+ certification is required

Required Proficiency:

Chosen candidate will be a developer with an excellent work ethic, attitude, and appetite to:

• Analyze and study complex system requirements. Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manages their implementation.
• Manage software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
• Estimate software development costs and schedule.
• Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques. Supervise software configuration management.

Candidate must possess at least 4-6 years of experience developing web applications using Microsoft .NET, C#, SQL Server 2014 and earlier, XML/XSD, MS Entity Framework, WCF/Remoting, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML5, TFS and writing automated unit tests.

Demonstrated personal experience of a compelling nature can be substituted for work experience in some cases.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with third-party user controls — Infragistics specifically
• MVC
• AngularJS
• Experience with developing/deploying applications in the Cloud
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum principles and experience working in an agile environment
• Source control repository such as TFS, Git, or Subversion
• Adapt off-the-shelf solutions to meet government customer needs and requirements.
