GDIT is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to administer and coordinate the personnel security activities for our NGA group in St. Louis, MO.  Specific duties will include maintaining classified document control and accountability of classified media received and dispatched. You will perform various employee in-processing/out-processing security briefings/debriefings and update security personnel databases accordingly.  You will also be required to deal with sensitive situations and confidential information diplomatically. You will also act as back up to the ACSSO in protecting the physical security of the facility.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Administer and coordinate the DoD security program and other related security activities for a large office or group to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding security regulations and procedures.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of security procedures in coordination with government agencies and company management.
  • Conduct security briefings.
  • Manage Personnel Security Clearance processes for specific Classified Government Contract Programs
  • Maintain personnel clearances and opening investigations using eQIP and JPAS/DISS.
  • Out-process clearances and provide and obtain debriefs from all separated personnel.
  • Submit Visit Authorization Requests in JPAS/DISS and issuing badges.
  • Submit requests for CAC cards as required and track the return of all CAC's upon personnel and subcontractor departures. 
  • Submit SCI nomination requests through ACCS or using the supporting command policy.  
  • Verify accuracy of new personnel security documents to complete the security screening process.
  • Verify Clearance Eligibility for Recruiting during the pre-employment process.
  • Brief new employees on security procedures during new employee orientations.
  • Execute facility's regulatory compliance program (i.e. NISPOM, SPP).
  • Assist in preparing facility for annual DSS inspections.
  • Provide Security Education and Awareness Training to all.
  • Maintain Security documentation and data within the companies Security Information Management System of record. 
  • Support compliance with company security policies and federal and state employment and anti-discrimination legislation.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding security regulations and procedures.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of security procedures in coordination with government agencies and company management.
  • Participate in special projects as required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical or military discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to successfully pass a Counterintelligence Polygraph
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical or military discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.
  • 5+ years of related experience in facility or industrial security administration, preferably in the government contracting industry
  • A demonstrated ability to work independent of close supervision
  • Practical experience in the adjudicative process with an understanding of SCI and collateral classification issues
  • In-depth applied knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense PA/FOIA guideline
  • Practical experience in review and treatment and release of documents in accordance with the Privacy Act
  • Knowledge of Physical Security disciplines, training in ICD 705 a plus

Desired Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI with CI Poly
  • In-depth knowledge of E.O 12968 and ICD 704 Guidelines specific to the Appeals process.
  • Experience generating and managing response documents under the Appeal process as defined under ICD 704
