At GDIT ARMA, people are our differentiator. As a Network Administrator, you will be trusted to monitor and maintain the customer's computer networks. See some of the job responsibilities below:


  • Provide ongoing support for the functionality and efficiency of computer networks (LAN/WAN).

  • Design, install, maintain, and coordinate the use of network systems.

  • Monitor and manage data traffic/network performance and control network resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.

  • Provide technical solutions in the management of software, hardware, configurations, and architectures, including network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters, and servers.

  • Evaluate existing network systems to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements.

  • Analyze customer requirements to determine optimal network solutions

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot and resolve complex problems to maintain operating efficiency and ensure quality transmission service on the network.

  • Use subject matter expertise to diagnose and solve issues and has authority to deviate from standard operating procedures

  • May create, maintain, and delete user accounts and will plan, install, and maintain network systems for multiple classifications

  • May provide installation, maintenance and repair of network hardware and software

  • Develop and/modify process and technical documentation. Create backup procedures, test plans, and related reports

  • Plan and diagram the physical layout and location of devices and the connection between devices participating on the network

  • Evaluate and recommend networking product and software upgrades

  • Maintain operating efficiency and stability, and ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data

  • May function in a "Tier 3" support role, resolving the most complex network issues escalated by Tier 2 support

  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals and may serve as a team or task lead


  • 8+ years of relevant network administration work experience

  • CCNA certification required

  • DoDI 8570.01m Certification required

  • Network Security + certificate preferred

  • CCNP Route/Switch or equivalent certification preferred

  • ITIL Certification preferred

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience (Additional Education, Training, Certifications or Work Experience can be substituted for Degree or Years of Experience.)

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required
