At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Cyber Security Analyst supporting the customer, you will be trusted to execute multi-faced programs that support dynamic mission sets. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Analyzing IP network traffic for CI issues as it relates to security, technical & operational vulnerabilities, and risk
  • Conducting network and networking technology assessments and developing reports based on findings
  • Providing insight into the latest threats and countermeasures
  • Evaluating network operations using network management platforms, auditing functions, and log reviews
  • Providing recommendations for end-to-end technical analysis
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technology

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience or relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    - Experience working on TCP/IP networking projects and demonstrated experience with cyber security and/or network security principles
    - Experience with troubleshooting and investigating issues associated with IP network products, including routers, switches, wireless networking, VPNs, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and IOT appliances
    - Demonstrated experience with communications protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP, MPLS, OPSF, IGRP, BGP
    - Knowledge of and experience with encryption products, methodologies, and configuration
    - Knowledge of and experience with network packet capture appliances/applications such as Netwitness, Solera, Probe, Wireshark, Snort, Zeek
    - Experience with network vulnerability scanner, web scanner, and database scanner such as Nessus, WebInspect, and AppDetective
    - Experience with network management products such as HP OpenView and Solarwind
    - Experience with anonymous/privacy internet capabilities and supporting network architecture
    - Experience using Splunk to analyze proprietary USG networks
    - Experience triaging sensitive USG technical data
    - Experience performing penetration testing
    - Thorough understanding of proprietary current and legacy USG communication systems
    - Experience with the SIGINT production chain and multiple USIC entities
    - Experience conducting or supporting technical CI investigative efforts
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    - Experience with telephony systems and VoIP
    - Experience with Windows Server (2008R2/2012R2), Windows Workstation (7/8.1), Linux (Redhat/Debian), and OSX operating systems
    - Experience interfacing with vendors and third party producers
    - One or more relevant certifications: CEH, CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, Juniper NCSP, Juniper NCP, RHCSS, Amazon Cloud Service or similar cloud certification

Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation.

Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information.

Evaluate firewall change requests and assess organizational risk.

Communicates alerts to agencies regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications and operating systems.

Assists with implementation of counter-measures or mitigating controls.

Conducts regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans.

Develops, tests, and operates firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems and software deployment tools.

Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure.

Responds to queries and requests for computer security information and reports.

Conducts investigations of computer security violations and incidents, reporting as necessary to management.

Researches, evaluates, tests, recommends, communicates and implements new security software or devices.

Implements, enforces, communicates and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications.

Develops materials for computer security education/awareness programs.

Provides recommendations to clients on information assurance engineering standards, implementation dependencies, and changing information assurance related technologies.

Performs periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance.

Provides information to management regarding the negative impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information.

Provides advanced guidance and leadership to less-experienced team members.

May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)

Provides information assurance project management, technical security staff oversight, and development of mission-critical technical documents.

Ensure compliance with regulations and privacy laws.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 10+ years of experience
