GDIT is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support their work for the FAA in Atlantic City, NJ. The FAA Airport Technology Research and Development Branch conducts research and development for enhancing the safety, capacity, and efficiency of airports located throughout the nation. The Pavement Task Area conducts research in multiple task areas that focus on airport pavement research and development supporting the FAA's National Airport Pavement Test Facility (NAPTF), the National Airport Pavement Materials Research Center (NAPMRC) and international airport field pavement research sites and airport pavement research universities.
Researches, develops, designs, manufactures, and tests tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices. Works on power-producing machines such as electric generators, internal combustion engines, and steam and gas turbines. Develops power-using machines such as refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, machine tools, material handling systems, elevators and escalators, industrial production equipment, and robots used in manufacturing components by integrating atoms and molecules and introducing entirely new principles to the design process.
Level 1, 2, & 3 Mechanical Engineer- Shall have a 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited college or university. Shall also have at least 5 years of demonstrated research and development experience or similar field.
