GDIT is seeking a Chief Infrastructure Engineer to join its Intelligence and Homeland Security (IHS) Group. In this role the successful candidate will have overall awareness of the IT infrastructure of the government environments to include on-premises and hybrid-cloud.
The qualified candidate will perform the following tasks:
Design and configure cloud architecture
Configure cloud integration efforts and implement plans for hosting complex application workloads
Acts as technical liaison between operations teams, engineers and architects, providing critical operational insight to upcoming implementations and strategies, including validation of ongoing solutions supportability
Develop/maintain systems configurations and executes administration and operational duties on computer systems while maintaining data/information as required
Provide direct support in the troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware, software, and other network and system problems
Interfaces with DHS engineers/architects regarding architecture standards/guidelines/policies based on needs and anticipated technology advances
Experience aligning strategic business and technological goals with capabilities and services articulated through business processes and supported through technology solutions.
Assist with the monitoring and the development of system/network status and coordination of computer network access and use
Experienced with EA thought leadership and has expertise with common enterprise architecture frameworks, such as the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF)
Assist with the configuration of firewalls, routers, and switches to maximize network efficiency and security
Demonstrated experience performing technology evaluations to gauge relevancy, competency, and capability with regards to satisfying business goals and objectives
Acts as an advisor to executive management to set direction, collaborates with senior and line management to enact strategic plans, and provides leadership to tactical business and technology teams
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and business owners to provide guidance and recommendations on improving IT infrastructure
Experience working within the federal government or serving federal government clients on Agile-based development contract
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 20+ years IT experience
IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 4 certification
Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field
