At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Software Developer supporting the customer, you will be trusted to build web pages. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Position is in a team environment with individual projects assigned for candidate to complete.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Ability to work with customer directly on requirements and implement into a final product accepted by the customer.
  • Ability to work within customer required parameters to include accessibility in all sites, utilizing agile scrum methodology.
  • Work in a paired programming environment to build web based applications using Ruby on Rails
  • Develop automated tests using RSpec and Karma
  • Exposure to/experience with JavaScript frameworks and object oriented programming.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, GIT repository.
  • Work in an Agile team. Perform sprint planning, sprint review. Participate in daily standups and retros.
  • Perform web accessibility testing and remediation
  • Perform systems administrative tasks to support automated deployments, system monitoring, and infrastructure management.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Willingness to learn to enhance team performance.


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret SCI/with Polygraph

Analyzes customer requirements to provide websites according to the clients moderately complex specifications and needs.

Coordinates with graphics and web designers to develop web applications and websites.

Tests and makes recommendations for web applications and websites for next level production.

Maintains and recommends updates to websites ensuring changes are implemented without disruption.

Creates and implements contingency plans in preparation of website outages.

Maintains current knowledge of relevant programming that will enhance web applications and websites overall functionality.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 2+ years of experience
