Apply engineering expertise, to include performing in-depth and complex network engineering involving all aspects of the network including core, edge distribution, border, Layer 3/2 routing and switching.
Interact with and report network issues to lead architect, including determining future bandwidth needs, conducting redundancy planning, and adopting infrastructure configurations according to industry best practices and standards to meet the client’s business needs.
Documents the design with multiple views for various usage levels (technical architectural level, business level, operational level, maintenance level, etc.)
Collaborate with system engineers across teams and disciplines to ensure solutions meet established technical goals and are deployed within established timelines.
Provide support for implementing routing and switching protocols.
Interprets customer requirements and develops internal requirements and design solutions for optimal enterprise communication services.
Identifies solutions based on alternative analysis, providing detailed assessments against requirements (technical, cost, business, security, schedule), establishing baseline for the enterprise network.
Performs customer requirement interpretation, develops internal network requirements to support the design and delivery of enterprise communication services.
Assess customer objectives, goals, intents, requirements, standards, etc. and translate into enterprise objectives and requirements.
Evaluates new network technologies and makes recommendations to stakeholders regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network.
Ensure designs comply with all applicable CSfC, Intelligence Community and GDIT CISO interoperability/compatibility standards, current/future system plans, and security requirements.
Support operations and maintain activities and administer networks including hardware, software, applications software, and all configurations.
Hands-on experience with the following hardware: routers (Cisco preferred), Cisco ASA platforms with AnyConnect, Juniper SRX platforms, and Palo Alto Firewalls.
Knowledge of TCP/IP and associated routing protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, etc., in addition to VoIP and video teleconferencing (VTC).
Hands-on experience with Nessus, Splunk, and CIS benchmark scanning tools.
Proficiency with MS Visio and PowerPoint to update and maintain network design documentation and develop design plans to be populated among various engineering teams and stakeholders.
Knowledge of VPN solutions to include Site-to-Site, Multi-site, and client-based VPN. Knowledge also includes PKI certificate-based VPN solutions.
Knowledge with Certificates Authorities (CA) to include Microsoft Server Certificate Services deployments.
Ability for clear and concise oral and written communication; capability to interface at multiple levels and successfully present technical information.
Background in supporting certification and accreditation processes in XACTA.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Highly Desired Certifications:
CCNP, CCIE, JNCP, JNCIE are a plus
8570 IAT II compliance required (CompTIA Security +), 8570 IAT III compliance preferred Certified Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
