Cloud Technician with Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph required

Our work depends on a Cloud Technician joining our team to support customer activities at the customer’s site in McLean, VA.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Cloud Technician supporting the customer, you will provide O&M and development support to the customer’s cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate enjoys working across teams and in an experimental, idea-filled culture. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Analyzing user needs and evaluating new cloud technologies as they become available
• Collaborating with development team to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions
• Educating the customer on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives
• Modifying and improving existing systems
• Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
• Configuring and monitoring alerts via Cloud Watch events
• Configuring and monitoring Linux installations including standard Linux utilities
• Creating S3 buckets and storing files, documents, HTML static pages, and permissions
• Diagnosing, isolating, explaining, and resolving complex problems pertaining to server development, administration, and maintenance
• Designing, developing and deploying modular cloud-based systems
• Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security
• Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
• Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.
• Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client need

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
• Minimum of 6 years related experience.
• Troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Client management skills
• Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph required

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Experience with CI/CD systems
• AWS Services, VPC, Auto Scaling, RDS, Data Pipeline, Availability Zones (AZ), Elastic Load Balancers (ELB), Domain name service (DNS) via Lotus Notes, JAVA, JavaScript, LDAP, PKI certificate management, GIT, Linux utilities (netstat, grep, scripting, vi and isblk).
• Experience utilizing LAMBDA and Code Deploy, JQuery, HTML V.5, JDBC and Apache Tomcat
• Web development experience such as front-end aesthetic design, back-end development, integrating Python into web applications, and connecting front-end interfaces to live data.
• AWS certification preferred
