At GDIT, people are our differentiator. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Utilizing network analysis tools to identify and resolve performance problems in the network and perform routine server maintenance and upgrades.
  • Troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels,
  • Design, build, and certify stand alone networks to include automation scripting in a Windows environment.
  • Review user requests for upgrades and additions to the network, and recap servers to newer models to include Domino.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Network engineering and design, including network and information security requirements, working knowledge of policies and procedures related to designing, upgrading, and maintaining enterprise networks. Microsoft Server 2012/2016, System Center 2012/2016, Windows 10, Domino 9, Cisco networking and encryption, network architecture, system design, Splunk, Nutanix hardware, HP server and workstation hardware, understanding of ICD 503 and 705.
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
  • Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of theory and practice underlying satellite network operations

Contributes to completion of specific engineering programs and projects.

Develops solutions to a variety of complex engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity.

Performs complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.

Oversight of complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

Performs complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.

Performs continual maintenance and provides complex solutions for security, backup and redundancy problems.

Prepares and maintains a range of documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.

May provide guidance to less-experienced Systems Engineers.

Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology.

May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of experience
