Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall design and day-to-day management of the application engineering team and guides the successful completion of major engineering projects.
  • Responsible for team management of the application engineering efforts. Oversees the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
  • Performs high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of very complex application that require a thorough knowledge of administrative and technical skills.
  • Performs advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.
  • Directs and participates in all phases of system development with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing and acceptance phases (IV&V and DT&E).
  • Applies higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at automated engineering solution.
  • Designs and prepares technical reports and related documentation, and makes charts and graphs to record results.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required by the Task Order.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality and services delivered for particular task(s) for which this skill is performing the Task Leader position.
  • Works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.
  • Ability to prepare project management charts/plans that depict work assignments and completion schedules. Prepares and maintains all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
  • Performs continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for continual and highly complex security, backup and redundancy problems.
  • Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency
  • Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure
  • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.

Unique/Additional Requirements

  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities, including understanding user requirements, troubleshooting technical issues, successfully resolving issues and challenges, and developing creative solutions for process improvement
  • Must have programming knowledge in C#, and in Microsoft .NET and SQL environments. 
  • Experience with SharePoint

  • Maintain and update certification requirements within 6 months of a version change applicable to the program
  • Willing to perform other duties as assigned

Education

  • Requires a MA/MS Degree.

Certification Requirements

  • Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) or equivalent certification.
  • COMPTIA Security + CE
  • Must have passed the most current Microsoft Certification Exam within the last five years for SQL Server.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of fully adjudicated Secret clearance confirmed within JPAS.

 Work Location:

  • Client Site, Ft. Eustis, VA
  • Hours of Operation are 0630-1730 M-F
  • Some flexibility may be required to cover when others are out of office
  • No telework allowed

 

Travel: 

  • Occasional travel may be required – normally less than 10%
    • Seattle, WA – Feb timeframe (5-day Conference)
    • Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Aug timeframe (4-day Conference)
    • Anaheim, CA – Sept-Oct timeframe (3/5-day Conference)
