Provide services to engineer, install, operate, and maintain Land Mobile Radio (LMR) networks and their ancillary equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, frequency management actions, base station radios, vehicle-mounted radios, handheld radios, man-packable radios, and various antenna platforms (e.g., mobile, base station, portable, and GFE Microwave Systems).
Provide maintenance service and repair for all tactical radio systems in support of contingency exercises. Provide maintenance service to correct, repair or replace a nonfunctional repeater and bring the site back into operational status.
Provide Land Mobile Radio Training support.
Provide Frequency Spectrum Management support. Prepare and submit frequency assignment proposal. Resolve frequency interference problems.
Conduct Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Investigations /reports of EMI from supporting units and commands and elevate preliminary assessment of EMIs.
Provide Black Key COMSEC Distribution Support for all local elements and transitional elements requiring Black Key COMSEC. Operate Data Management Device Power Stations, Black Key software laptop which includes converting black key data to CRYPTO.
Perform warranty coordination, RMA management, and shipping/receiving as required.
Provide recommendations and procure replacement parts, as funded.
Perform lifecycle management and replacement of services items that have reached end-of-life, as funded.
TS/SCI Clearance required; TS clearance with SCI eligibility may be considered.
Requires an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education on a case-by-case basis.
3+ years installing, operating, maintaining and troubleshooting LMR base stations, repeaters and mobile radios. Must have LMR shop operations and management experience in a large-scale LMR shop and be familiar with equipment tracking databases. Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of communications systems or equipment.
Two (2) years of specialized experience maintaining/troubleshooting:
XTS-5000 and other various hand held radios
Trunked and non-trunked LMR systems
Key loaders, antennas, multi-couplers, duplexers
Test equipment such as, service monitors/ communication system analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency counters, power meters, spectrum analyzer
Digital recording equipment
Over the air keying equipment (Key management facility)
Spectrum XXI certification desired
