Our work depends on a Cloud Architect joining our team to support a top health agencies activity in Silver Spring, MD.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a OSGS Cloud Architect in this role, a typical day will include:

  • Proficient in various cloud technologies including (but not limited to) HPC, data management, networking engineering, IT security, architecture, and operations management, Architecture of IT systems, patterns, and frameworks, experience with data center and virtualization technologies.
  • Leveraging expertise to conduct high level analysis, formulate solutions, develop white papers, and perform AoA.
  • Knowledge of Core networking and infrastructure or application development technologies including (but not limited to)
    • Serverless and microservices architecture
    • Cloud based Identity management capabilities
    • Implementation of Big Data, AI, and ML tools , applications, and algorithms
    • Storage, archive, backup/recovery, and business continuity processes in operations;
    • Internet Protocol (IP) networking, VPNs, load balancing and firewalling
    • Building sophisticated, highly automated infrastructure and real-world production environments
    • Knowledge of Chef, Puppet, Salt or Ansible in production environments with many nodes; CloudFormation and JSON; Linux; Scripting in PowerShell, Bash, Perl and/or similar
    • Software code development and release expertise (revision control source code
    • repositories - Git, SVN, Mercurial, Perforce);
    • Management of continuous integration services (e.g. AWS CodePipeline, Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity);
    • Seamless/automated build scripts used for release management across all environments
    • Automated testing tools (i.e. Selenium, JMeter)
    • Code deployment processes (tagging)
    • Application of industry compliance and NIST security and compliance


  • Seven or more years of IT technical implementation experience with ability to work individually or lead technical teams
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as good interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Hands-on technical practitioner and individual contributor with Demonstrated knowledge of strategic application regarding business, product, and technical challenges.
  • Ability to travel for projects
