Our work depends on a Voice Engineer joining our team to support JSP ETM activities in Arlington, VA.
As a Voice Engineer supporting JSP ETM, you will be trusted to perform daily activities in support of the DoD Revision Ribbon AS2 LSC; with all of its Core and Peripheral systems. The Voice Engineer will be the on duty system support expert for the Ribbon AS2 LSC in support of over 70,000 users. Work encompasses support of SIP based Session Managers, Provisioning Manager, Personal Agent Manager, Media Application Servers, PRI Gateways and Associated Element Managers. Support for VOIP phones, TDM and SIP Trunking, Voice Mail, E911, and UC features.
Candidate will be familiar with AS2 or Avaya AS5300 system Architecture and have working knowledge of its Element Managers, Linux command line, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and common industry standard fiber and copper physical media support for Telephony. A typical day in this role will include:
Alarm monitoring, scheduling/running of system backups, system upgrades, preventative maintenance, hardware replacement, system troubleshooting, Telephony dial-plan, and routing changes.
Working independently and with vendors, identify root cause issues and determine proper problem resolution, collect logs for vendor evaluation.
Interfacing with customers, Local Exchange Carrier, local in-house cabling support, and Avaya.
Performing call-flow evaluation and other duties required to operate, maintain, update, and perform break-fix actions, trouble ticketing, reporting, and system interface with other telephony switches, VTCs, & ACDs.
This position will support customer requirements in a 24/7/365 environment primarily on a night shift schedule with some scheduling flexibility.
Active Secret Security Clearance
2+ years of directly related experience
Current CompTia Security+ CE Certification or higher level is required
Current System Certification with major Vendor (Cisco, Juniper, Nortel, Ribbon, Avaya or other). Also, Acceptable Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching Cisco Collaboration, Avaya, ACIS Microsoft MCSE ,Juniper JNCA Voice Certification preferred.
Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred or equivalent combination or education and work experience in lieu of degree
Experience with DoD version of Voice Switch if not Avaya or Ribbon.
Ability to work Monday-Friday, Swing or Night Shift
Hands-on Experience as Operator of AS2 or AS5300 Switch highly desired
Experience with Oracle SIP Session Boarder Controller desired
