GDIT is currently seeking to hire a Sr. Software Engineer. The Senior Software Engineer shall be responsible for leading and directing a team of software engineers providing operations and maintenance support to IC2&I currently deployed suite of DLS/LMS/KMS software. The Senior Software Engineer shall also be responsible for providing direction to the teams responsible for researching, testing, building and integrating new products or major enhancements based on requirements generated from NAWCAD WOLF IC2&I or their client agencies.

The individual:

Designs, develops and analyzes complicated and difficult software programs for computer based systems.

Develops moderate complex documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

Under limited supervision, prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.

Performs in-depth modeling, simulation and analysis. Designs and develops basic compilers, assemblers, utility programs and operating systems with independent judgement.

Using independent judgement, develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.

Provides detailed inputs for documentation of new or existing programs.

Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.

May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of experience

It is required that the Senior Software Engineer has the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree within a field similar to the scope of this requirement, i.e. computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering 
- At least two years total experience developing systems code using C++, C#, Java, and JavaScript.
- At least five years’ experience developing software on Agile Development projects consisting of at least two teams of five to 10 members each.
- At least five years’ experience leading software development efforts of similar size to those identified in the requirements of the SOW.
- Agile Certified Practitioner or similar.
It is desirable that the Senior Software Engineer has the following qualifications:
- Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) from (ISC)2.
- Experience developing applications for deployment to commercial cloud hosting environments.
