GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a HF Communication Engineer in Germany. Must ave a current and active Top Secret clearance with SCI. The HF Communication Engineer shall support the EUCOM Command providing Electronics Engineering services in support of US Army Europe. The Electronics Engineer shall support Army units equipment, provide high-level troubleshooting and maintenance, and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the Government. The Electronics Engineer shall also be responsible for system maintenance and repair. The Electronics Engineer shall monitor the day-to-day operation and institute corrective actions in response to noted anomalies The Electronics Engineer shall also provide status updates during troubleshooting and confirm the reason for the outage with the designated Government POCs after resolving the problem. Hands-on tactical radio and IP networking experience. Possesses vast knowledge with regards to the operation. Experienced HF, VHF, & UHF radio operator/maintainer & instructor with an extraordinary amount of antenna theory, RF theory, and propagation theory knowledge. Applies institutional knowledge acquired through years of direct military support, to interface, integrate, upgrade and maintain United States proprietary low-density tactical Intelligence Electronic Warfare systems using AC, DC, Digital Theory, and troubleshooting skills. Evaluates and resolves technical problems encountered during network integration, equipment installation, and troubleshooting of C5ISR systems. Uses engineering drawings and schematics to solve system and equipment failures, and analyzes failures to determine if they are considered systemic or unique anomalies.
Applies institutional knowledge acquired through years of direct military support, to interface, the Electronics Engineer shall maintain, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and operate the following types of equipment:
Fiber Optics Networks equipment
Cisco Routing and Switching equipment
Tactical Mobile Satellite Communications Equipment
Radio & Antenna Fault Isolation
HF Antenna Consultation
Communications in Contested Environments
Expedient Antenna Construction
Vehicular Radio Installation & Grounding
RF Network & Frequency Planning
Antenna Siting & Co-site Interference Mitigation
The Electronics Engineer shall travel as required by the Government.
The Electronics Engineer shall perform PMIs in accordance with the appropriate Army Tech Manual, Tech Bulletin,
PMI schedules and manufacturer’s manuals unless the periodicity is specified otherwise in the appropriate Tech Manual.
Minimum Education Requirements:
TESA ACCREDITATION: Associate Degree + 7 of recent specialized experience, OR; A BS +A3 yrs of recent specialized experience,
OR, A Major Certification plus 7 yrs of recent specialized experience OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.
Must have a current and active TS/SCI
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience should include but is not limited to Internal routing protocols (OSPF, RIP, EIGRP) External routing protocols (BGP),
Quality of Service (QOS) (DSCP, MPLS),
Windows 2000 servers providing DNS and DHCP network services,
VOIP technologies and Cisco Call Manager as well as Multimedia services over IP such as H.323 and H.320 video teleconferencing (T-JWICS).
