Job Description

Team Leader for a major Navy business enterprise network operations center environment. Candidate will provide on-site leadership for a team of 20 engineers and technicians and be responsible for all aspects of daily operation, sustainment, upgrade, internal and external customer interface, and compliance with Navy and DOD policies and guidance. The Team Leader is responsible for developing and managing complex projects to include project team members customer expectations, deliverables, schedules, time and scope. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, creating project plans, communication plans, allocating tasks and setting milestones. Additionally, candidate must have ten (10) years of related experience in enterprise systems/computer systems or similar systems and five years demonstrated ability to supervise, plan and lead technical/engineering teams in multiple, complex task assignments. The candidate must have an active secret clearance, with a T5 investigation, at the time of hire. Supervises at least 20 employees  BA/BS desired, with 10 years of relevant  experience. Candidate must have a current 8570 IAT II certification at time of hire.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provides technical, operational and administrative management of assigned project or tasks. 
  • Supervises assigned staff, including subordinate supervisors.
  • Leads technical interchange meetings with internal and external customers to resolve complex technical issues.  Prepares and presents impact assessments, plans of action, and white papers.
  • Utilizes background and experience to develop and maintain policies, instructions and SOPs. 
  • Utilizes experience in network engineering and system administration to lead troubleshooting to resolve system problems.
  • Utilizes experience to lead detailed planning including schedule development and provides recommendations to customer on task workload prioritization.
  • Attends customer meetings and serves as primary customer liaison.
  • Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and customer staff.
  • Responsible for development of technical deliverables and products and inputs to program management deliverables.
  • Ensures compliance with DOD information assurance and cyber security directives.
  • Promotes best practices including RMF processes, SCAPs and STIGs.
  • Leads certification and accreditation and inspection preparations.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS
  • 10+ years of project management with an emphasis on DoD technical projects.
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Experience with the duties and responsibilities outlined in the description
  • Solid experience with DoD cyber security best practices; RMF, SCAPs and STIGs
  • Experience managing people
  • Security+ CE certification
  • Active Secret Clearance with T-5 investigation required; Top Secret preferred

  • Five plus years of project management
