The Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System - Navy Personnel and Pay (NSIPS-NP2) is the Navy's single, field-entry, electronic pay and personnel system for all USN/USNR Sailors. We are seeking an Associate Database Analyst to join our team.
This position will be part of Operations support, so there are occasions for after-hours and weekend work for production deployment and other application support.
Analyzes customer requirements and provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate complexity
Supports the design, development, build, analysis, evaluation, installation, and administration of database management systems
Assists with the design and implementation of databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods
Supports the preparation of system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation
Defines database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
Reviews and validates applications changes for impact on security and integrity
Supports application software and performs application installs and upgrades following established procedures
Responsible for moving change requests submitted by developers between development, test and production environments
Develops and document technical processes and procedures as needed
BA/BS or equivalent years of experience
3+ years of experience in install, configurations, patching, monitoring or maintenance with Oracle RDBMS versions 11c or higher
Experience with SQL and Oracle PL/SQL
Experience in providing technical support for applications - troubleshooting and resolving issues related configurations, patching and use of applications
Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8 operations systems
Experience working in supporting and troubleshooting issues with development team
