GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Management Specialist for Ft. Lewis, WA. This position requires someone with a current and active Secret clearance. Must have GCSS-Army experience with certification.
High level of experience operating within the GCSS-Army (maintenance) environment.
Develop business relationships with suppliers and customers.
Develop an understanding of organizational and customer needs and take actions to ensure that such needs are met.
Develop inventory control processes to account for property received, shipped, excessed, moved or transferred.
Develop proposals that include documentation for estimates.
Direct the movement of a range of goods, people, or supplies, from common consumer goods to military supplies.
Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.
Design strategies to minimize the cost or time required to move goods.
Collaborate with various sections as necessary to meet organization and customer requirements.
Explain proposed solutions to customers, management, or other interested parties through written proposals and oral presentations.
Manage supplier/subcontractor activities, reviewing proposals, developing performance specifications, and serving as liaisons between suppliers/subcontractors and the organization.
Maintain strong attention to detail.
Maintain a positive attitude and work as a member of a cohesive team as well as independently.
Oversee activities including purchasing, shipping and transportation, inventory, warehousing, and delivery.
Plan and manage logistics, inventory, transportation and customer services.
Review the success of logistical functions and identify areas for improvement.
Redesign the movement of goods in order to maximize value and minimize costs.
Provide material handling coordination support to include shipping, receiving, storage, and disposition of property.
Inspect inbound inventory for defects or notable damage and logs/reports issues.
Data entry, research and documentation of receiving issues.
Prepare inventory for shipping, loading of pallets, generating documentation, resolve inventory-tracking problems.
Interact with vendors to obtain information to reconcile inventory discrepancies.
Ensure the delivery of products on time and to the right location.
Handle unforeseen issues, such as delivery problems, and adjust plans as needed to resolve the issues.
Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
Generate data and reports for all required operations.
Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements.

Strong attention to detail.
US passport must not expire for at least 2 more years and must have at least 4 blank pages.
High School and one year experience.
Must have a current and active Secret security clearance.
Valid State Driver’s License.
Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Visio, Word and Excel.
