Job Description Summary:

Eagle Alliance is seeking a Systems Administrator - Servers to support customer activities at Annapolis Junction, MD.

 

In this role, your typical responsibilities will include:

 

·         Attend technical meetings with other internal disciplines to assist with design efforts specific to data center deployments

·         Participate in collaboration / technology discussions with vendors   

·         Conduct site surveys and data center spot checks to verify activity lights and well-being of the environment

·         Submit PSCs (power space cooling) request, ICT (infrastructure change tickets) and MRMs (machine room management) forms

·         Install / Configure Windows servers, Linux servers / ESXI servers

·         Hardware support for Dell, HP and Oracle servers   

·         Deploy and decommission virtual servers

·         At times install, maintain and trouble shoot physical layer one related items

·         Administer, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot IT data center related equipment onsite and in lab (servers, network switches)

·         Administer and maintain power distribution units (PDUs) of various sizes and output (e.g. L6/30 – L21/30 - rack mounted)

·         Follow industry standards and best practices for all data center deployments

·         Perform IT hardware decommissions within the data center

·         Document all deployed IT data center equipment via internal database

·         Communicate with disposition team when performing decommissions

·         Become familiar with and utilize our internal ticketing system for all data center deployments

·         Monitor internal ticketing queue for new install and break-fix support tickets  

·         Create material orders and communicate with warehouse

 

Skills / Experience:

·         Comprehensive knowledge of Unix / Linux

·         Comprehensive knowledge of  principles, methods, standards and techniques utilized in our Customers environment

·         Comprehensive knowledge of cable test equipment -copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs / power meters and electrical testers

·         Working knowledge of date center type equipment (servers, network switches)

·         Working knowledge of electrical principles and components

·         Computer-literate

·         Familiar with design drawing software (Visio) (not required, can be on-the-job training)

 

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

·         High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of related experience, or Associate's Degree with 4 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience

·         DOD approved certifications ( Security+)

·         TS/SCI with Poly required

Additional:

·         Position may require lifting of objects in excess of 50lbs (e.g. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling and other moderately strenuous activity

·         Position may require the use of power tools and ladders

·         Position may require work to be performed after core hours in support of planned outages and break-fix situations

·         Other duties as assigned – at times direction will be provided by other subject matter experts

·         Obtain passport

·         Travel will be required
