This position is not yet funded.  GDIT has a future opportunity for a ServiceNow Architect / Engineer to join our Development Team. In this role, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of software developers and other IT professionals to support, maintain, and enhance the ServiceNow application in support of our customer’s mission. You will join a highly collaborative team focused on delivering high value to its customers. You will work in close cooperation with other developers, managers and product owners on project teams, as well as work independently on smaller efforts with limited direct supervision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for analyzing and translating business information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve complex business objectives
  • Engages with other enterprise architects to position ServiceNow as the digital transformation platform integrated with the core systems
  • Establish and manage technical governance processes
  • Drive solid instance health by reviewing and guiding the remediation of configurations that do not align to ServiceNow best practices 
  • Contribute thought leadership (methodology and white papers) as needed to ensure that all available technical solutions are available to the customer when making critical decisions for the platform
  • Define solutions across the platform that align to out of the box capabilities and consider current and future configurations, requirements, mandates or platform upgrades
  • Develop, maintain and enhance applications on the ServiceNow ITSM platform (help desk/service management)
  • Support the team in ServiceNow operations like User/ Group administration, reporting, Metrics, SLAs, etc.
  • Leverage both proven and innovative technology approaches to solve challenging business problems
  • Provide technical assessments, written documentation and technical expertise
  • Be available for on-call rotation to support any production issues impacting ServiceNow or its related systems within the enterprise supported by the team.
  • Support and enhance reporting solutions both within ServiceNow and through external reporting solutions to support the customer's strategic goals
  • Contribute to the team’s efforts to consistently meet the KPIs and goals set by the customer
  • Communicate with the customer in non-technical terms, understand their business requirements, and provide suitable solutions
  • Provide technical guidance, training and leadership to the technical delivery team
  • Work on continuous improvement and consistency by sharing experience and knowledge within the team
  • Oversee platform configurations, changes and enhancements in order to provide consistent quality and service to the customer

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent and 10 years’ experience; 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Prior experience developing solutions across the ServiceNow platform that leverage the automation and integration capabilities of ServiceNow.
  • Prior experience implementing and deploying the core suite of ITSM applications (Incident, Problem, Change, Domain Separation)
  • 3-5 years’ experience deploying software using Agile/DevOps/SAFe frameworks

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Any ServiceNow certifications are a plus
  • Experience with platform integrations
  • Experience providing innovative solutions through the ServiceNow platform
