  • Manages the functionality, communication, and efficiency of interconnected computers running on one or more operating systems.
  • Design, plan, implement, and administer enterprise level systems and server solutions in a virtualized infrastructure.
  • Develop, plan and implement processes to maintain integrity and security of servers and systems.
  • Sets up and manages administrator and service accounts.
  • Perform analysis and makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.
  • Design, develop, and document PowerShell or other equivalent scripts for administrative functions
  • Identify needs, create and maintain system documentation.
  • Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
  • Develop and implement testing strategies and document results.
  • Provide advice and training to staff members and end-users.
  • Provide tier 1 and 2 support.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain servers within a VMWare virtualized environment
  • Working knowledge of maintaining systems, applying STIGs and patches, and perform, firmware updates
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012r2 and 2016 servers
  • Working knowledge with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) servers (preferred)
  • Experience with McAfee Host Based Security System (HBSS) – agents and ePolicy Orchestrator (EPO)
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Ability to participate in special projects as required.
  • May be assigned as a team lead.


MA/MS or equivalent years of experience


  • 10 or more years of systems administration experience analysis of Windows Server 2012 or later
  • 8570 certification: IAT Level II Certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP
  • Secret DoD Security Clearance
  • Computing environment certificate in Microsoft Windows (MCSA) or equivalent within 6 months of hire.

This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021 or the start date, if after December 8.
