Qualifications:

10+ years experience related to systems engineering design, implementation, and monitoring with 3+ years with cloud experience, preferably Microsoft O365.

  • Knowledge of various platforms e.g., Windows, Redhat Linux, VDI
  • Experience migrating to Microsoft Azure and O365 and subsequent management
  • Experience leading the development and implementation of engineering SDLC
  • Experience designing, installing and supporting enterprise solutions
  • Previous development of technology roadmap(s)
  • Experience with managed service programs
  • Experience providing technical leadership to medium to large size teams
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills to effectively relate to agency and customer needs.

Experience required with one or more of the following technologies:

  • Microsoft Azure

  • Windows Server (2008/2012/2016)
  • Linux (RedHat)

Certifications

Have two or more of the following certifications, or obtain within 3 months of start:

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate
  • MCSE: Productivity Solutions Expert
  • ServiceNow Implementation Specialist – ITSM
  • ITIL Foundations
  • ITIL Service Design and Service Strategy intermediate certification (within 6 months desired)

Bachelor’s Degree or minimum 6 years of experience in lieu of degree

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops technology roadmaps
  • Keeps abreast of current developments in technology and security to assist Federal staff in assessing the future direction
  • Maintains the overall IT architecture ensuring it provides a secure environment.
  • Ensures the business, application, data and technology perspectives are in line with the organization’s technology and governance strategies, policies and standards.
  • Develops, implements and ensures compliance of programs engineering life cycle process
  • Advises program leadership and government on best technology course of action(s)
  • Reviews and approves technical designs, implementation plans, and change requests
  • Ensures Service Design processes effectively support the introduction of new services and systems into the environment
  • Defines system support requirements to include monitoring, capacity, staffing, patching and upgrades 
  • Ensures systems are monitored and statistics relevant to capacity, performance, security, utilization, etc. are provided to Federal staff and management
  • Identifies areas of improvement in process, people or technology and presents implementation plan to management
  • Oversees development and documentations of system disaster recovery tests, in accordance with customer policy, on a quarterly basis to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Provides technical guidance and support to engineers and administrators
  • Coordinates daily with Federal staff on technical issues, tasks and projects
  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems
  • Ensures requirements address technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Assesses architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs system specifications, and evaluates input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility
  • Analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies
  • Conducts independent technical investigations in systems design
  • Oversees COTS hardware and software interoperability, new technologies assessments, statistical studies, predictive analysis, project planning, script development, etc.
